The S&A Academy’s Engineering and Manufacturing Support Technician Apprenticeship is a 30-month modular programme developing technical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.

Blended delivery online and in person on site taking place 1-day per week over 30 months – available for employers across the UK.

We also offer employer specific customisation of our apprenticeship programmes. Useful to add additional modules, or blend other training, such as management skills or training on your particular type of equipment, into our overall delivery programmes.
L3 Engineering & Manufacturing Apprentices
Program Structure
Duration: 24 – 30 months
Format: Training is delivered through a combination of, specialist workshops, online learning and onsite training with expert guidance from industry professionals and technical mentors. Apprentices will also develop essential problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills, preparing them for a successful career in the sector.
Assessment: End Point Assessment of Work-based report with presentation and questioning and Professional discussion supported by a portfolio
Certification: Apprentices will receive a Level 3 qualification on completion of the programme.
Additional Qualification:Â EAL Level 3 Diploma in Engineering and manufacturing support technologies
Core Knowledge​​
Duty 1 Comply with statutory, quality, organisational, environmental, and health and safety regulations.
Duty 2 Receive, read, and interpret engineering data and documentation.
Duty 3 Identify problems within the engineering or manufacturing activity and contribute to the resolution and suitable solutions.
Duty 4 Organise engineering or manufacturing workflow, communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
Duty 5 Plan work, and resources to enable implementation of engineering or manufacturing tasks and projects.
Duty 6 Use appropriate technical software supporting the operation of processes or equipment.
Duty 7 Provide technical support operations in line with specific safe working practices and specification requirements.
Duty 8 Complete technical support activities for equipment, components, systems or processes and contribute to their product output.
Duty 9 Produce technical documentation, data and information to support engineering or manufacturing activities.
Duty 10 Carry out quality checks during and after the technical support operation.
Duty 11 Handover and provide technical advice to stakeholders for engineering equipment and services.
Duty 12 Support continuous improvement activities to address business needs.
